Smart ways to save money on winter holidays

22nd October 2008 Print
At a time when one in three Britons is planning a holiday to escape the winter blues*, families can now look forward to receiving six percent of the total cost of their holiday returned into their child’s savings when they book through the KidStart Travel Club.

With the average selfcatered family ski holiday costing £2,000, a family of four could save up to £120 towards their children’s future simply by arranging their holiday through the KidStart Travel Club in association with Thomas Cook**.

The KidStart Travel Club is also offering a Christmas special offer of £441 per person for a seven night selfcatering holiday with Neilson staying at La Foret Residence in Flaine in France, departing from from London Gatwick on 20th December 2008. A group of four booking this holiday through the KidStart Travel Club would save £106 for chidlren, schools or charities.

In addition to receiving savings on your holiday booking, KidStart offers five percent towards your child’s savings when you shop at either Sweaty Betty or Blacks through the KidStart website. Both retailers offer a great range of Winter Sports clothing and equipment and will be cheaper than shopping in a skiing resort.

KidStart prides itself on its unique status as a shopping club which is free to join and allows its members to collect cash savings for children, schools and chidren’s charities every time they purchase items. The site is growing rapidly with a choice of over 250 retailers spanning a wide range of products including food and drink, entertainment, sport & leisure and home & garden. For the full selection log on to KidStart.co.uk.

How KidStart Works

KidStart is free and easy to join and use. Sign up at kidstart.co.uk and you can immediately start to collect savings for children, schools or children’s charities while shopping . You tell KidStart which children, schools or children’s charities you want to save for and KidStart does the rest. Every time you shop with KidStart, up to 20% of what you spend is automatically saved for your children.

Julian Robson, co-founder of KidStart, commented: “Despite the crunch on finances being experienced by UK parents, many are obviously not willing to give up on taking their families away this Winter. While many parents will be making sacrifices in order to cover holiday expenses, we are very happy to be able to offer money into child’s savings in these harsh times.”
