MSC Fantasia launches official website

28th October 2008 Print
The official website is now online for MSC Fantasia, the largest ship ever commissioned by a European ship owner, which will be inaugurated in Naples on 18 December 2008. The site - mscfantasia.com - is entirely dedicated to MSC Cruises’s new flagship, currently under construction at the Aker Yards France in St Nazaire.

Available in five languages (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish), the site is characterised by the presence of a clock counting down to the launch day. In the background, the image of the ship, whose godmother will be Sofia Loren, changes colours according to the time of connection.

The evocative introductory video recounts the ship’s story and construction, recalling its magical atmosphere, breathtaking panoramas, and the elegance and uniqueness of a vacation on board the world’s most exclusive cruise ship.

The site allows curious visitors to become involved in cruise life, thanks to the presence of five special assistants, who accompany the visitor through a virtual journey to discover the ship. Each of them, in his/her own role, reveals the secrets of MSC Fantasia: the Captain talks about his ship; the Chef recommends restaurants and specialties; the Entertainment Organiser talks about her work and the areas dedicated to children and kids; the Butler guides visitors through the exclusive MSC Yacht Club; and the Director of the MSC Aurea Spa opens the doors to the relaxation and well-being areas.

The different site sections contain photo galleries with three-dimensional images and plans, providing a global vision of all the ship’s areas. There is also a Questions & Answers area for frequently-asked questions.

Through MSC Navigator, users can visit the ship interactively, check all the latest itineraries, access maps of the ports, information and images on the areas visited, and even check out the comforts of the exclusive MSC Yacht Club.

MSC Fantasia and its sister ship MSC Splendida, which will be inaugurated in July 2009, introduce a new concept of cruise ship and a new era of sea holidays. In addition to their new eco-friendly technologies, the two ships will be the first to have an exclusive VIP area, MSC Yacht Club, comprising 99 suites, reserved areas, bars, restaurants, a solarium, two hydro-massage baths, one pool, an observation VIP lounge – a reserved salon area with a bar, along with round-the-clock butler service.
