Children’s charity benefits from DFDS mini cruises
To celebrate its 142nd anniversary, DFDS Seaways is giving away cruises to Amsterdam - all you have to do is donate to local charity, Children North East. Sailing from Newcastle to Amsterdam on a mini cruise on the 11th December, the DFDS Seaways’ Charity Cruise Break includes two nights on board ship in an en suite cabin, coach transfers to and from Amsterdam and the best part of the day to explore this wonderful European city. With DFDS Seaways your short break begins the moment you step on board. With live entertainment, restaurants, bars, shops, cinema and a casino and nightclub there is plenty to keep you amused as you cruise across the North Sea to Amsterdam. You will sail overnight and arrive into port next morning.
Everyone who books for the Charity Cruise Break simply chooses whether to donate £25, £35 or £50 to Children North East. And that’s all there is to pay.
Children North East is the region’s longest established children’s charity providing vital help, emotional and practical support to families with young children who are facing difficulties.
John Crummie, UK Managing Director of DFDS Seaways commented: “We have been donating to Children North East for a number of years and we are proud to continue this relationship with such a worthwhile charity for 2008.
“We initially organised the Charity Cruises in 2006 to celebrate our 140th anniversary and they have proved so popular that we have continued them annually ever since. They really are an excellent way for people to give much needed donations to an excellent cause whilst enjoying a relaxing mini cruise break to Amsterdam.”
Catrina Flynn, Fundraising and PR Manager for Children North East added: “Over the last few years DFDS Seaways’ Charity Cruises have helped significantly with our fundraising efforts, and we are really pleased that once again they have decided to support us. Children North East provides vital support for so many families across the region, and the work that we do really does make a difference to their lives.”
