On the road with the kids Family travel must be about fun, whether it’s sledging on a tea tray down a sand dune in the Namib Desert, paddling through the Okavango Delta in a dugout canoe or visiting the ancient Moroccan kasbah where ‘Gladiator’ was filmed. Dragoman offers a choice of five family adventures all designed to combine fun, excitement, learning and relaxation. Go on the road with Dragoman and show kids the wonders of the world.

Moroccan Family Adventure: 14 nights departing Marrakech 29th Jun, 13th & 27th Jul & 10th Aug 09.

Arriving in Morocco is like wandering onto a film set - a place where people wear long robes and turbans, donkeys clop along narrow alleyways and exotic bazaars peddle all manner of weird and wonderful goods. Dragoman’s families stay mostly in traditional riads and kasbahs on this tour, with some camping in the desert. There's a trip to Ait Benhaddou, where 'Gladiator' was filmed, a camel ride into the Sahara dunes and a chance to go walking in the Atlas Mountains. Dragoman also visits the pretty seaside town of Essaouira, with its walled medina where no cars are allowed and fabulous Atlantic beach. And of course there’s Marrakech, an intoxicating mix of snake charmers, magic potions and hidden palaces.

The tour costs £1,095 p/adult, £986 p/child (6-15 years) including transport aboard Dragoman’s Mercedes-Benz truck and camels, riad, hotel, french auberge, desert camping and campsite accommodation (70% hotels / 30% camping), all camp meals and the expertise of Dragoman’s two person crew.

Peru Family Adventure: 14 nights departing Lima 4th & 25th Jul & 15th Aug 09.

A two-week adventure travelling from the National Parks of the Bellestas Isles right up into the Andes. En route visit the mummies of Chauchilla, have the option to fly over the bizarre Nazca lines, plus time to relax and explore the beautiful colonial cities of Arequipa and Cusco. As with all of Dragoman’s tours there’s plenty of opportunity to become involved within the community and on this trip a visit to the reed islands of Lake Titicaca and an overnight on a Quechua homestay is included. The real highlight for all the family is the remarkable ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu and Sacred valley.

The tour costs £1,050 p/adult, £945 p/child (6-15 years) including transport aboard Dragoman’s Mercedes-Benz truck and camels, hotel and camping accommodation (85% hotels / 15% camping), all camp meals and the expertise of Dragoman’s two person crew.
