Prestige Holidays expands Isles of Scilly programme Independent tour operator, Prestige Holidays, has expanded its Isles of Scilly programme to four islands for 2009; St Mary’s, Tresco, Bryher and St Martins with prices starting from just £272 per person for a three night stay. The operator launched its first programme to the islands this year with a selection of properties on St Mary’s.

David Nash, Deputy Managing Director, Prestige Holidays, comments:

“We received an excellent response to this year’s programme and found ourselves selling the other islands to satisfy agents’ and clients’ demands. This is why we decided to increase our portfolio for 2009 and we are confident that our business will grow substantially as a result.

“Part of the appeal of the Isles of Scilly is their nostalgic quality. Many travellers booking holidays to the islands are keen to recapture childhood memories and enjoy holiday pursuits of yesteryear. Also in 2009 a holiday on the islands will prove attractive to travellers looking to cut costs of their annual short break or summer holiday and to those seeking a “greener” break.”

Prestige Holidays’ packages to the islands lead in at £272 for a three night stay in April at the Annet cottage in St Mary’s including BB accommodation, private transfers and return flights from Lands End. The operator is also offering helicopter or boat travel from Penzance and direct flights to St Mary’s from Newquay, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton.

Other hotels featured on the island are: St Mary’s Hall, The Atlantic, Star Castle, Tregarthen’s, Bell Rock, Schooners and Trelawney Guest House.

The “Off” islands of St Martin’s, Tresco and Bryher are just a short hop by boat from St Mary’s.

On St Martins the operator is featuring the renowned St Martin’s on the Isle Hotel. Built to resemble a cluster of granite cottages, the hotel has its own quay and faces white sand beaches.

This 30 roomed property has an indoor pool and has been awarded a Michelin Star for its formal dining restaurant, “Tean”. A three night stay between March and May starts from £693 per person based on two people sharing a twin/double room on a half board basis with flights from Lands End to St Mary’s and boat transfers to St Martins.

In Bryher Prestige Holidays is offering the Hell Bay hotel. Named after the notorious Hell Bay known for its breathtaking views and crashing seas, this property with its extensive private grounds offers the perfect “get away” location.

The only hotel on Bryher it has just 17 rooms and offers a superb restaurant, bar and children’s play room. A three night stay in March and April starts from £634 per person based on two people sharing a studio suite on a half board basis with flights from Lands End to St Marys and boat transfers to Bryher.

Travellers to Tresco can choose from the New Inn, the Island Hotel, The Flying Boat Club and a selection of self catering holiday cottages. A week’s stay in a three bed roomed cottage at the Flying Boat Club starts from £416 per person based on six sharing in February and March. The price includes return flights from Land’s End to St Mary’s and boat transfers to Tresco. Every stay also automatically includes Flying Boat Club membership comprising use of the private bar and restaurant, gardens, indoor swimming pool, gym, treatment rooms, free golf on St Mary’s nine hole course and entrance to the world renowned Abbey Garden.

The Isles of Scilly with their warm climate, beautiful scenery, empty white sandy beaches, turquoise seas, nature trails and great food have something for couples, singles and families alike on a short break or main summer holiday.
