Stunning Sibillini revealed in new guidebooks

The guidebooks, the Grande Anello dei Sibillini, a nine day circular walk around the mountains staying at refuges along the way, Pedalling around the Park, which offers mountain bikers some inspiring excursions and the latest translation, the Grande Via del Parco, a guide to the area by car, provide a fascinating insight into the history of the area and take the visitor on an awe-inspiring journey through the mountainous landscapes that make this one of Italy's most spellbindingly beautiful but lesser known regions.
The largely rural area is proud of its traditions, fine local cuisine and untainted environment, still home to wolves, bear and eagles. The guidebooks coax the visitor around the area on foot, by mountain bike and by car in an effort to make the area as accessible as possible to all.
Keen walker and translator of the guides, Felix Stewart, said the area was waiting to be discovered: "I grew up in a national park in North Yorkshire and love walking.
"When I first visited the Monti Sibillini National Park I was inspired by its beauty and wildness. That was over ten years ago and I've been here ever since. And the best thing is you can walk all day and not meet a soul - but I think that may be about to change with the translation of these guides."
