A Snow Leopard quest in Ladakh
There are still places on Naturetrek’s pioneering tour in search of Snow Leopards, one of the rarest and most beautiful animals on the planet, in the spectacular setting of Ladakh, northwest India.About 200 Snow Leopards are known to inhabit this mountainous region, and in the depths of winter they descend from high peaks into lower-altitude valleys and gorges in search of prey such as the Bharal (Blue Sheep).
Steve Winter’s 2008 winning image of a Snow Leopard for BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition was taken in one of the remote mountain passes here.
The tour costs £2,395 p/p including flights, transfers, hotel, village stay and camping accommodation, all meals and expert guiding. 14 days departing London 17th January and 1st February 09.
