Value for money holidays from Great Rail Journeys

16th January 2009 Print
Great Rail Journeys - the UK market leading tour operator for escorted holidays by rail - is highlighting the great value of its 2009 tours as a result of the falling value of the pound against currencies such as the euro and the dollar.

Prices for the company's 2009 holidays were based on summer 2008 exchange rates and so are excellent value for money as they would attract up to a 20% increase if recalculated now - or considerably more if put together by the customers themselves.

For example, the 31 March departure of the 10-day Classic Glacier Express to Switzerland would incur a £200 or 15% increase (£1575 instead of £1375). Alternatively, there would be a £540 or 19% rise in the price of the 1, 6 and 8 July departures of the 21-day USA Coast to Coast itinerary (£3435 instead of £2895).

Another reason for Great Rail Journeys' holidays representing excellent value is that there is very little to purchase once on the holiday as the majority feature a wealth of inclusive elements - such as First Class rail travel, quality hotels, transfers, meals, sightseeing and excursions and the services of a Tour Manager throughout.

In addition, customers can book in the knowledge that prices will not rise because the company offers a no-surcharge guarantee which means that there will be no increase in the cost of the holiday once it has been booked and confirmed. However, should the company reduce the price of a holiday for any reason, this saving will be passed on to the customer.
