Family summer getaways in coastal Kent
For a spot of affordable family fun this summer head to Kingsdown Park, situated in 35 acres of peaceful, wooded hillside overlooking the sea. The Park is situated between the White Cliffs of Dover and the fishing town of Deal and is home to beautifully equipped self-catering Scandinavian-designed timber lodges sleeping four, five or six.Facilities include heated indoor pool, tennis, volleyball, crazy golf, bar/bistro and privately owned beach, plus it's 'car free' so children can play in safety.
Local attractions to Kingsdown, which is just over an hour's drive from London, include historic castles, stately homes, wildlife parks and zoos, along with traditional seaside towns such as Broadstairs and Hythe.
For those who fancy a day trip to France, Dover is just six miles away or the Eurotunnel terminal 15 miles.
As an example of 2009 prices, a seven-night spring holiday - arriving between 1 and 22 March - costs £219 per party in a property sleeping four, rising to £644 in peak season.
