A photography masterclass in Slovakia Great landscapes and great photographers make for great pictures – and here’s a chance to get in on the act with an inspiring photography course in Slovakia’s spectacular High Tatras Mountains, run by Mountain Paradise and led by two of Britain’s most outstanding nature photographers, Chris Weston and Chris Coe.

Slovakia has a wealth of rugged snowy peaks, deep green forests, blue mountain tarns, tumbling waterfalls, wildlife (including bears and wolves), and historic UNESCO castles, all providing inspirational material for any keen photographer.

Two courses, one involving ‘easy’ walking, the other ‘moderate’ walking, will be led by the award-winning photographers Chris Weston (chrisweston.uk.com) or Chris Coe (chriscoe.co.uk). They are aimed at all keen amateur photographers, whether working in digital or film, from 35mm up to large format.

Mountain Paradise has done the hard work, scouting the most dramatic locations for optimum light and unrivalled opportunity. All participants need bring is their camera and imagination. Professional tuition is included throughout, covering subjects including composition, exposure, focus and depth of field, and learning to ‘read’ the landscape.

Slovakia is just two hours by air from the UK, with flights from Luton or Manchester airports, and short transfers give the maximum amount of time on location. Accommodation is in the luxurious and spacious Chalet 21 in the mountain resort of Velka Lomnica, with breathtaking views of the High Tatra Mountains.

The fully escorted, exclusive courses run from 23 May to 20 June, 2009, for the spring special and 19 September to 17 October for the autumn spectacular. The cost is just £945.00 per person, including: flights; transfers; accommodation on a twin-share, full board basis;' ground transfers; and professional photographic tuition. The maximum number of guests is seven.
