Cycling for softies in Switzerland

4th February 2009 Print
Huffing and puffing is a thing of the past on a cycling holiday says the Switzerland Travel Centre. The company is highlighting breaks - which only take half the effort - using super duper 'Flyer' electric bicycles to explore the breathtaking scenery around Lake Thun in the Bernese Oberland.

These seven-night trips - where visitors 'cycle' around 27 miles per day - follow a route from Spiez to Saanenland taking in Lake Lauenen and the Kander and Simmen Valleys.

On offer on a weekly basis between June and October, the twin share price of £949 per person includes return flights from Heathrow or London City, mainly half-board accommodation in three-star hotels, route maps, transport of baggage between hotels and hire of the 'Flyer'.

There are plenty of loading stations (for re-charging batteries) en route, but if the worst should happen and a battery should go flat, a reserve 'akku' or battery is provided.
