Spring holidays by rail to Lake Garda

6th February 2009 Print
This spring, combine a relaxing lakeside stay in northern Italy with guided visits to the cities of Verona, Milan and Venice on a 10-day On the Shores of Lake Garda itinerary courtesy of Great Rail Journeys, the UK's market leader for escorted holidays by rail.

Other highlights include a visit to the town of Malcesine - with its narrow cobbled streets - followed by a Lake Garda cruise, a traditional meal - with locally produced wine - in the Cascina Capuzza winery, plus an overnight stay on Lake Geneva.

The holiday offers both three- and four-star hotel accommodation options at Lake Garda including the three-star Hotel Touring, for example, which is situated in a quiet residential part of Desenzano just a short walk from the lakefront and costs from £1398 for a selection of departures in May.

Alternatively, the four-star Hotel Acquaviva is located in the small town of Rivoltella - on the outskirts of Desenzano - with facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, spa and a private area at the water's edge - and costs from £1425 for a choice of departures between end of March and end of May.

All prices quoted are per person, twin-share and include return First Class rail travel from St Pancras International, coach travel, transfers, nine nights' hotel, most meals, all excursions as per the itinerary and the services of a Tour Manager throughout.
