‘SailRail’ your way to Dublin

10th February 2009 Print
With criticisms of budget airlines' baggage charges again making headlines, Irish Ferries is highlighting a SailRail programme to Dublin where the fare quoted is the fare that will be paid, with no hidden extras. With SailRail, travellers are welcome to bring as much luggage as they wish at no extra charge and there are also no check-in queues or fees.

All mainline stations link to Holyhead port from where Irish Ferries offers four sailings a day to Dublin on modern, comfortable vessels - either the cruise ferry Ulysses or the Dublin Swift - where passengers can relax, grab a bite to eat in one of the restaurants or indulge in some on-board retail therapy.

Price examples: from Crewe, Chester, Manchester or Liverpool a one-way SailRail is £24 per person; from Leeds, Birmingham or Preston £25 or from London £27. Children aged 5-15 years pay half the adult rate and prices quoted include all taxes and charges.

Also pre-bookable with SailRail are tickets for bus connections from Dublin Port to the city centre or Heuston railway station for onward travel within Ireland.

SailRail bookings can be made at mainline railway stations.
