Home is where the tart is

More-Than-A-Home.com will send out batches of Bakewell Tarts to a maximum of just 25,000 entrants. The ten participants who find a golden key with their tart will be invited to the grand final where one of those keys will literally unlock their dream home.
“We think it’s an exciting way of promoting our holiday cottages business and other local traders,” says Martin Pearce, one half of the family-run business behind More-Than-A-Home.com.
“We may not be the first to turn a property into a prize but we’ve certainly injected a little more colour into the concept. As the economy evolves, businesses will have to evolve with it. And we’ve got plenty more ideas in the pipeline.”
The prize – a two-bedroom barn conversion in the picturesque village of Over Haddon near Bakewell – comes with all the country trimmings, including stunning views over the Lathkill Dale Nature Reserve and a plot that nestles up to a historic country Manor.
Set within a protected National Park, it provides the perfect base for countryside rambling. Over Haddon is just two miles from Bakewell, four miles from Chatsworth House, and less than an hour away from major cities like Manchester, Sheffield and Derby. The village local, The Lathkill Hotel, has also been in the Good Pub Guide for the last 27 years.
“There is no end to the possibilities with this prize,” says Pearce.
“For the price of a £25 Gift Voucher - which is worth £50 towards a stay with us or our affiliates - someone will be getting a live-in home, a weekend retreat or an investment property with the potential to yield an income of up to £18,000 per year.”
