Discover West Africa

18th February 2009 Print
Kumuka Worldwide has introduced West Africa into its adventure holidays' programme with a comprehensive choice of 13 small group tours ranging from seven- to 28-days and focusing on Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso and Mali.

This new programme is aimed at travellers who want to experience the cultural riches of this diverse and underdeveloped region of Africa - with its mysterious beliefs and dark history - but who also want to contribute, through sustainable tourism, to a brighter future.

An ideal introduction to the region is the seven-day 'Sights and Sounds of Ghana' itinerary which combines 'ancients' such as the slave forts and castles of Elmina with the 'modern' - the rainforest canopy walkways of Kakum National Park.

During this short visit there are also opportunities to get immersed in Ghanian culture.enrol in a drumming class or lend a hand in a community project, working alongside local volunteers.

There are monthly departures on this holiday with the first on 19 April. The price per person (twin share) is £635 which includes the fully-escorted tour with leader/driver, all sightseeing and entrance fees as per itinerary, plus all meals while camping (six nights). Ex UK flights not included but can be arranged on request.

Other itineraries in the new programme include: 'Markets, Coast and Voodoo' (14 days); 'West Africa Empires' (21 days) and 'West Africa in Depth' (28 days).
