A bumper selection of credit crunch holidays

Olympic Holidays has launched the second edition of its 2009 Smart Choice budget holiday programme with new hotels and apartments added across its range of destinations.

Smart Choice features hotel, all-inclusive and self-catering holidays in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Malta and Egypt's Red Sea Riviera.

All-inclusives are particularly popular for those - couples and families alike - budgeting more carefully these days. The new programme sees a further boost in the number of affordable all-inclusive properties to around 40 with nine on Egypt's Red Sea Riviera - well outside the eurozone.

Hotel expansion in Smart Choice sees new properties in Cyprus, Turkey, Croatia and many of the featured Greek islands, including Crete, Corfu, Rhodes and Kefalonia.

Smart Choice leads in at £245 per person for seven nights' self-catering at the newly featured Aphroditi Apartments in Corfu's Paleocastritsa, three sharing a studio or five sharing a two-bedroom apartment.

Hotel holidays start at £285, for seven nights' B&B at the Tilemachos Hotel at Dassia in Corfu. All-inclusives are priced from £345, for seven nights at the Sun & Sky at Kalithea in Rhodes.

All above prices include return Gatwick flights and transfers.

The Smart Choice programme is based on full packages, but to meet demand for flexible holiday arrangements there is the facility to book flights and accommodation separately.

Low-cost flight-only is available from £169 (to Corfu). New for 2009 is flight-only to Croatia, priced from £239 to Pula and from £249 to Dubrovnik. Accommodation-only starts at £29 per week, with availability from one night upwards.
