Pearls of the Indian Ocean

27th February 2009 Print
Walking specialist operator, Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, is offering a two centre, 16-day tour to the heart of the Indian Ocean – embracing the exotic islands of Mauritius and Réunion.

Famed for their outstanding beauty, this ‘adventure’ begins at Tamarin Bay on the west coast of Mauritius where one can languish on the beach and then explore the fascinating town of Mahebourg and Lion Mountain.

In Réunion, one ‘bunkers in’ at Cilaos, nestling amongst dramatic volcanic mountains and sheltering under the 3070m Piton des Neigres.

Renowned as a hiker’s paradise one then moves on to La Plaine des Cafres – an excellent base to explore the Piton de la Fournaise, one of the World’s most active, but safest, volcanoes.

Price from £1510 per person (departures in June and August), includes return flights, transfers, half board accommodation and the services of a tour leader.
