Stena Line defies economic doom and gloom

13th March 2009 Print
In this time of economic doom and gloom, leading ferry company Stena Line is defying the trend by revealing an upsurge in bookings of its holiday packages. The percentage of holidaymakers choosing to take a Stena Line holiday to Ireland in 2009 has risen by a remarkable 22%.

Stena Line UK communications manager Nigel Tilson believes the increase in sales can be attributed to the fact that its Stena Line Holidays arm offers the perfect package for local holidaymakers wanting to book a short break or family holiday without having to spend a fortune.

“Stena Line offers a wide range of holiday hotspots throughout Ireland. With the Emerald Isle located only a couple of hours away travelling with Stena Line offers families and couples the chance to escape easily to one of dozens of hand-picked hotels from only £59* per night. It’s the perfect break for those wanting to treat themselves despite the current credit crunch.

“Our short breaks to Ireland offer customers plenty of inspiration for holidaying to Ireland in 2009,” he noted.

“Stena Line has something to suit everyone’s taste and budget, from cosmopolitan city breaks in Belfast and Dublin to golfing breaks in County Kildare and Enniskillen; from relaxing spa breaks in Galway to fun-filled family holidays in Killarney and Newcastle,” said Nigel.

“People are finally realising that holidaying in Ireland is not just fantastic value for money but there is also so much to see and do.

“Our holiday brochures provide plenty of information on all the destinations featured as well as what to see and do in each region. What is more, booking with Stena Line really takes the stress out of travelling as holidaymakers can relax onboard and enjoy the comfort and convenience of taking their own car to explore the countryside and enjoy their onward journey. With the many frustrations and increased expense that those travelling by air face at the moment, many of our customers are telling us that they really appreciate this kind of stress-free travel,” Nigel added.

Stena Line Holidays allows adults to travel and stay in a range of 3 star to 5 star properties including breakfast from only £59* per night. It also features great money saving offers including three nights for the price of two as well as a ‘kids go free’ deal which allows children under the age of 14 to travel and stay for free when sharing a room with two adults.

Once onboard the Stena HSS fastcraft or one of the Superferries customers can take advantage of a range of added-value extras and activities such as free WIFI access when using your own laptop or PDA, great savings on family meal deals, toy giveaways for younger travellers and the chance to see Curious George who will be onboard on selected sailings throughout the summer.
