24th March 2009 Print
Single parents and their children can look forward to celebrating Charles Darwin’s bicentenary on the Galapagos Islands thanks to Small Families! The UK’s leading operator of holidays of single parent families has just announced details of a special trip to Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands this summer.

Highlight of your stay in Ecuador will be three nights at La Casa del Suizo, a tranquil Amazonian village located on the shores of the Napo river and close to the eastern slopes of the Andes.

From here you will be introduced to the secrets of the tropical rain forest, explaining how the indigenous population use plants for medicinal purposes. There will be the opportunity to experience a ride on a raft made of balsa wood and see how you get on with a real blowpipe!

From Ecuador you transfer to the Galapagos Islands staying on Santa Cruz where you will visit the Charles Darwin Station and tour the bay for the opportunity to try some snorkelling with the sea lions. There is a full day’s cruise included to Seymour and the final two nights will be spent on Isabela Island.

Throughout the trip you will be able to enjoy the company of other single parent families.

You depart from Heathrow on 12 August, retuning on 24 August. Prices are £3493 per adult and £3260 for children under 12 years. Included in the cost are; return scheduled flights with KLM; internal flights; airport taxes and charges; entrance fees; full board accommodation throughout; full sightseeing package and the services of two Small Families hosts.
