Celebrity Comic Relief renews interest in Tanzania
Acacia Adventure Holidays has noticed a huge surge of interest in their Mount Kilimanjaro Treks and Tanzania based adventures following the Comic Relief celebrity climb. To maximise the effect of the positive publicity the tour operator is offering 10% off its most popular route, the Marangu trek. £481pp (save £53pp) plus local payment from £380pp.
The tour operator offers several other routes to complete the challenge including the Machame, Rongai and Shira climb - the latter option popularised by the Comic Relief celebrities.
Kate Plummer, comments: “It’s great to see renewed interest in Tanzania, as the country is highly dependent on tourism. While Mount Kilimanjaro has been central to the publicity, it’s also encouraged people to travel to other areas. We continue to work with the Amani project in Moshi, an initiative which supports orphaned children, many of whom have lost parents, been abandoned by families who are unable to support them or have HIV. This is just one of the many non-profit ventures featured on our tours that is now benefiting from increased number of adventurers opting for Tanzania.”
Acacia Adventure Holidays splits their payment system into a tour price and local payment, the latter staying in the host country and benefiting local people, guides and projects.
Kate Plummer, comments: “Our local payment system gives people peace of mind as they can see exactly how much money remains in the country and they know that they are directly affecting the lives of the people in Tanzania."
