Climbing high with PGL in 2009

16th April 2009 Print
Innovation is the name of the game for tour operator PGL when it comes to providing children with new and exciting challenges. For 2009, they have introduced a brand new specialist 'Climbing Adventure' holiday which combines learning all the techniques and checks for enjoying safe climbing - ropes, belays, ground anchors, bouldering etc - with the chance to earn the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme Level 2.

On these week-long holidays, three and a half days are spent 'learning the ropes', which includes a visit to a local cliff for some outdoor crag climbing, while the remainder of the time is for enjoying many of the other exciting activities available at PGL adventure centres - archery, canoeing, motorsports, camp craft to name but a few.

Available at four centres - Boreatton Park (Shropshire), Osmington Bay (Dorset), Hillcrest and Court Farm (both Herefordshire) - 'Climbing Adventure' holidays start on Saturdays during the school summer break.

Price per child is £509 which includes full-board accommodation, all activities, instruction and equipment, plus evening entertainment. Age groups for Boreatton and Osmington are seven-to-10, 10-to-13 and 13-to-16 years, while Hillcrest takes those aged 10-to-13 years and Court Farm the 13-to-16s.
