Discover El Salvador
Travel specialist Journey Latin America is now offering holidays to the Central American country of El Salvador with its brand new ‘Highlights of El Salvador’ itinerary.Bordering the North Pacific Ocean between Guatemala and Honduras, El Salvador remains relatively undiscovered by British tourists. Journey Latin America’s 10-day itinerary has therefore been designed to take in some of the main highlights of the country, including the cosmopolitan capital of San Salvador, the small colonial city of Suchitoto, the UNESCO World heritage archaeological site of Joya De Ceren and the rainforests of El Impossible National Park.
The action-packed itinerary gives travellers the chance to explore ancient ruins, shop in quaint colonial villages and visit sugar cane and coffee plantations as well as hiking in the Apaneca–Ilamatepec mountain range and relaxing on the stunning beaches in El Sunzal.
Prices start from £1,063 per person, excluding international flights. This price is based on two people sharing and includes local flights, all transfers, accommodation and some meals.
Laura Rendell-Dunn, a destination specialist at Journey Latin America comments: “We are delighted to be offering a bespoke itinerary for El Salvador which can be used both as a stand-alone holiday or as an extension to a trip to neighbouring Honduras or Guatemala.
“El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America, but tourist infrastructure is still in its infancy. Our new itinerary therefore offers a real ‘off the beaten track’ adventure with the opportunity to explore dramatic volcanoes and lagoons, palm-fringed beaches and ancient Mayan ruins, as well as interaction with some of the friendliest people in Central America,” she added.
