The single best way to travel

8th May 2009 Print
The single best way to travel Capitalising on an increasing demand for ‘solo’ holidays, leading Asia specialist, Travel Indochina, is now offering a selection of its most popular trips exclusively for single travellers.

For those who enjoy travelling in small groups with like-minded people, the operator has introduced several departures on both its popular ‘Highlights of Vietnam’ (10 days) and ‘Cambodia and Vietnam Explorer’ (14 days) small group journeys.

These new journey additions are ideal for solo travellers wishing to experience the diversity of Vietnam (and Cambodia) and appeal to those seeking comfort and quality over backpacker-style adventure. Travel Indochina limits its group sizes to a maximum of 15, meaning that travellers will always have the chance to get to know the other people in the group.

General Manager for Travel Indochina, Chris Orme, explains: “The introduction of our single traveller itineraries means that solo travellers can now book in the comfort of knowing that they will be travelling with people of a similar age and outlook. Single travellers are welcome on all our small group journeys and those choosing our ‘willing to share’ option have no supplements to pay and might well end up in a single room anyway.”

Travel Indochina’s flexible itineraries mean that solo travellers can enjoy these fascinating countries as a group of friends, rather than a coach-load of anonymous people, joining the western tour leader and fellow travellers over an evening meal or sunset drink to share in the day’s experiences. However, for those who wish to strike out on their own for some independent adventure, this is also an option.

The 10-day “Highlights of Vietnam” small group journey is ideal for those who want to experience the diversity of this country within a limited time frame. Travellers will get the opportunity to soak up the vibe in exciting Saigon, stroll the ancient streets of charming Hoi An and relax on board one of Halong Bay’s junk boats.

Alternatively, the 14-day “Cambodia and Vietnam Explorer” would suit those with more time on their hands, with the added bonus of taking in the magical temples of Angkor in Cambodia, in addition to the ‘Highlights of Vietnam’ available in the shorter itinerary.

Prices for the “Highlights of Vietnam” itinerary start from £1,180* per person, whereas the “Cambodia and Vietnam Explorer” costs from £1,755* per person and include accommodation, internal flights and road transport, sightseeing, Western tour leader and local English-speaking guides.
