Exploring Russia’s imperial cities

Next its onto St Petersburg – founded by Peter the Great in 1703 – and now Russia’s second city. Highlights here include, the Winter Palace, the Hermitage, the Cathedral of the Peter-Paul fortress, the Smolny Convent, the Stroganov and Vorontsov Palaces and several great museums, galleries and other wonderful places of interest.
