Turtle time on Tobago

11th May 2009 Print
Turtle time on Tobago Visitors to the Caribbean island of Tobago during June may be lucky enough to witness the magical sight of huge, endangered leatherback turtles returning to the sandy beach on which they were born to lay their own eggs. Those who stay between June and September may even see the eggs hatching.

Specialist tour operator, Just Tobago, has a special offer at Plantation Beach Villas – where guests who wish to see turtles can ask to be woken up by security, should a turtle appear during the night at Stone-Haven Bay. Prices start from £795 per person based on four people sharing; that’s a saving of £130 each. For a group of six guests, prices start from £740pp, saving £110 each.

Prices are based on a week’s holiday in June and include return economy flights from Gatwick with Monarch, resort transfers, a complimentary meal, fruit basket and welcome hamper, plus seven nights’ accommodation at Plantation Beach Villas.

The accommodation is designed and built in the style of a traditional colonial house, complete with gingerbread wooden fretwork and decking terrace.

Each of the air-conditioned villas sleeps up to six people in three ensuite bedrooms, and guests have use of a 40ft pool just steps from the beach, as well as a poolside bar serving drinks and snacks.
