P&O Cruises launches website for kids
The site has dedicated sections for each age group, with relevant content and use of information:
• Splashers – for two to four year olds
• Surfers – for five to eight year olds
• Scubas – for nine to 12 year olds
• H2O – for 13 to 17 year olds
The site encourages ‘edutainment’, bringing together a collection of written content and use of video to engage and inspire children to play ocean-themed games and learn about more than 200 destinations around the world, all visited by the ships in the P&O Cruises fleet.
There is also a ‘beat your parents’ section with interesting facts and the ability to send a page on to parents telling them that their child knows the answer – but do they?
P&O Cruises, head of brand marketing, Philip Price, said: “The Cyber Reef has games, activities and information for each age group and will be updated regularly to keep it fresh and current, with daily jokes, photos, and destination information supported by Google Maps.
“No other cruise line has a dedicated website aimed directly at its younger passengers and the great thing about the site is that it’s engaging for children of all ages, and equally entertaining for those who have cruised many times before as those who have yet to step foot on board.
“Children yet to start their P&O Cruises adventures will be able to see an example of a typical fun-packed day and meet some of the Reef Rangers who might be looking after them throughout their holiday,” continued Price.
“We know that this will also be welcomed by parents who want to know what their children will be up to while they are relaxing by the pool, in the spa or in one of the many bars and restaurants on board.
“Our ships are the most family friendly sailing from the UK and we have consistently excellent feedback from The Reef youth programme. This new site has been designed to develop the service after the holidays have finished – or before they have begun.”
