A five-star holiday experience in St Ives

3rd June 2009 Print
A five-star holiday experience in St Ives 'One Atlantic Watch’ is a million miles away from the traditional Cornish cottage. The creation of owner Kimberly Race, this luxury property is newly re-furbished for 2009. It’s a holiday home with all the facilities of a five-star hotel and 180-degree views across Carbis Bay – a panorama stretching from St Ives to Godrevy Lighthouse.

One Atlantic Watch boasts a hot tub on the spacious terrace, screened for privacy by exotic plants and an elegant sail canopy; a master bedroom (en-suite) with its own terrace; a twin room adjacent to the family-sized bathroom; a fully-equipped kitchen with granite worktops, a south-facing conservatory dining room and contemporary yet comfortable lounge with balcony.

The house – which sleeps four – has plasma screen TV, DVD and CD players, i-pod docking station, wireless broadband and integrated sound system so you can even listen to music in the hot tub. Stylish outdoor furniture is provided on both the terrace and balcony, with garden lights and a patio heater for cooler evenings.

Fluffy white bathrobes and towels are supplied, as are White Company toiletries, fresh flowers for each new arrivals and a Cornish Welcome Hamper with all the basics plus the makings of a Cornish cream tea.

“Every time I visited St Ives I searched for a holiday home that combined first class facilities and breathtaking views - but could not find one, so I bought Atlantic Watch for its stunning location and set about turning it into the stylish house it is today – with a five-star rating from Enjoy England,” says Kimberly.

The powder soft sand of Carbis Bay is a three-minute walk downhill. This Blue Flag beach is about a mile long and offers safe swimming in gently shelving waters, while the South West Coastal Path runs across the back of the beach.

St Ives is only a mile or so away, round the headland, with Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, Leach Pottery, Wills Lane Gallery and ArtSpace among the cultural attractions. Excellent restaurants include Atlantic Waves and the Porthminster Café.

A week’s rental of One Atlantic Watch this summer is £1950 in August, falling to £470 for a week in November with winter short breaks from £270 for three nights in January 2010.

There is parking for two cars. Pets are not accepted.
