Brits vote to holiday closer to home

As Britain enjoys the hottest May in eight years even more families are voting for a holiday in the UK. Haven Holidays are reporting an increase of 30% in bookings for the West Country and West Wales over the last weekend.

And even more people are choosing to take their own tent or caravan to the 22 Haven Holiday parks that offer touring facilities. Bookings for Haven’s touring pitches are 50% ahead compared to the same time last year. The park is close to the beautiful unspoilt beaches of Northumberland and Alnwick Castle – famously used for some of the scenes in the Harry Potter movies. Blue Dolphin, near Scarborough has wonderful clifftop views. Family friendly facilities on the park include bike hire, all-weather sports courts and an indoor sports-drome, crazy golf and a gym. Basic touring pitches at Blue Dolphin are currently available from £6 per night for a family of four.
