Up close and personal with Canadian polar bears

4th June 2009 Print
For thousands of years polar bears have flocked to the shores of the Hudson waiting for it to freeze over. Only then can they continue their migration north to their traditional feeding and breeding grounds.

Leading escorted tour operator Travelsphere is offering its customers the chance to embark on a captivating ten-day tour of Canada, to get up close and personal with the country’s magnificent Polar Bears.

This is a rare opportunity to see this amazing creature in what has become known as the ‘Polar Bear Capital of the World’. Every year, hundreds of male and female bears congregate as they wait for the Hudson Bay to turn to ice.

Once safely aboard the specially modified ‘Tundra Buggy’, spend two fascinating days alongside an expert guide as the hungry bears wake from six-months of hibernation and prepare for the mating season by hunting for seals.

Leaving behind the icy waters of Hudson Bay, travel on to the beautiful cities of Winnipeg and Toronto, and experience turn of the century architecture, the Eskimo Museum and world famous landmarks including the Rogers centre and the colossal CN Tower.

Included in the price is a full-day tour of the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls where views from the fall’s observation deck show Canada at its most impressive.

Prices for the ‘Polar Bear Adventure’ start from £2,999 per person and this includes scheduled flights to Winnipeg, returning from Toronto, internal flights, transfers, five nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation and three nights’ accommodation on a room-only basis, a welcome and farewell dinner, all state and local taxes, all UK and overseas airport taxes, security charges, excursions and the services of a Travelsphere local representative. Departs 12 October, 27 October and 10 November 2009.

As an ABTA member and ATOL licence holder, Travelsphere guarantees that come what may its customers’ money and holidays are fully protected.
