Families choose UK short breaks for summer

Haven Holidays have reported a significant increase in the number of families booking short breaks this summer.

“Whilst bookings are extremely positive for longer holidays over the peak summer holiday period, this year we have had more than double the number of short breaks booked in July and August compared to 2008,” said a spokesperson for the brand.

The upsurge in bookings for three night weekend and four night midweek breaks has been attributed to a number of reasons.

We are seeing more new customers trying Haven for the first time and booking a short break to see if they like our holidays. Some families are determined not to miss out on a summer holiday and are booking three or four nights instead of their usual week or fortnight away. And some families are just taking advantage of the excellent price deals available and joining a trend for enjoying all that the UK has to offer.
