Parents want children to travel and learn about new cultures
More than 90 per cent of parents in the UK want their children to travel abroad and learn about new cultures, according to a recent survey by HSBC Wealth Management.When it comes to going abroad, more than 35 per cent of parents in the UK are most likely to encourage their children to travel independently and more than a quarter of parents surveyed said they would be happy for their children to go abroad and study.
The research suggests that more than 85 per cent of UK parents socialise with people from different cultures, more than 10 per cent above the global average, with more than a fifth (21 per cent) of UK parents believe learning and integrating within different cultures is vital for their children education.
Brendan Cook, at HSBC Wealth Management said: "Parents in the UK value travel and learning from other cultures as one of their highest priorities and want their children to travel extensively to study, work or just enjoy themselves.
"One of a parent's biggest worries when their kids are travelling is how they might cope if they into trouble and need help.
