The sub-tropical island of Tresco lies just 29 miles south west of Land’s End and is cosseted by the warm waters of the North Atlantic drift. The island offers breathtaking scenery with unspoilt white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and an abundance of marine and birdlife. Measuring just two miles by one mile, Tresco is car-free apart from a few vehicles used by to the Tresco Estate and the odd golf buggie and tractor. Most people get about on bikes or foot.
The island has one very popular pub, The New Inn that serves great food. Another location for good food is the Island Hotel in a magnificent setting on the west coast.
