Football fever in Africa

5th August 2009 Print
Football fever in Africa For the first time in the history of the tournament, the continent of Africa is holding the FIFA World Cup.

The most prestigious football event in the world kicks off on 11th June 2010 surrounded by the natural beauty of the National Parks, mountains, open plains and breathtaking coastline, as well as bustling and sophisticated cities.

The grounds in which the best teams in the world battle it out are also magnificent with the Green Point stadium being a stone’s throw from the ocean and using the mountains of Cape Town as the backdrop, and Soccer City being at the forefront of Africa’s art and design and inspired by an iconic African pot known as the ‘calabash’.

Thomson Sport offers Authorised Travel Packages tailor-made for the Group Stages of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. These packages include international flights, guaranteed access to tickets for each of England’s Group Stage matches, 16 nights accommodation in 3* or 4* hotels or apartments, all ground transfers and a safari experience to see Africa’s ‘Big Five’.

Prices start from £3999 per person. Packages for the rounds after the Group Stages or for the full duration of the tournament are also available. For further booking information visit thomsonsport.com.
