Join world-class photographers for a tour of Turkey

11th August 2009 Print
Turkey specialist Journey Anatolia is offering a unique tour of Mesopotamia in the company of award-winning photographers Bob Moore (former president, Royal Photographic Society) and Rod Wheelans (immediate ex-president of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain).

The 15 day tour starts in Istanbul on 12 September, when guests (maximum 12) get together to meet their photographic mentors before flying to Antakya – modern-day Antioch – in the south-east of the country.

From the banks of the Euphrates to the beehive houses of Harran, the tour takes time not only to discover the sites but also the people of this extraordinary region.

“The landscape and buildings tell only one story of Turkey,” says Journey Anatolia’s Serkan Cetin. “Our tours are about meeting people and hearing their personal stories, taking time to interact with the local community and enrich our photographs with authentic context.”

This is the third such tour that Bob Moore has tutored for Journey Anatolia. He is generous with his tuition time, ensuring results for every participant – whether novice or professional photographer.

Rod Wheelans, one of the most successful exhibition photographers in the world, will also give lectures and workshops en route.

The full itinerary can be found at Journeyanatolia.com/photo-southeast.

The tour, which costs £1680 per person twin share, or £1880 single, includes 14 nights’ accommodation in boutique guesthouses and hotels of three- and four-star standard, all meals, airport transfers, travel in air-conditioned midi-bus and internal flights between Istanbul and Mesopotamia. International flights to Istanbul are not included.
