Culture and cycling in Linz

14th August 2009 Print

There’s still time to visit the 2009 European Capital of Culture – the Austrian city of Linz – as part of a self-guided cycling itinerary courtesy of specialist operator, HF Holidays.

For example, enjoy an overnight stay together with free time in the city on the eight-day Passau to Vienna holiday which follows mainly flat cycle paths along the Danube taking in monasteries, vineyards and baroque architecture.

Starting daily through to mid-October, the cost is from £459 per person, twin-share, inclusive of seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast in three and four-star hotels, cycle hire, luggage transfers between overnight stops, plus route notes and maps.

Alternatively, there’s ample free time to explore Linz on the eight-day Leisurely Danube itinerary – a relaxed tour which follows the flat cycle paths along the Danube from Passau to Grein taking in historic town centres, lakes and abbeys as well as featuring two free days to discover the local sights.

This holiday also has daily start dates until mid-October and costs from £389 per person, twin-share, inclusive of seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast in three-star hotels, cycle hire, luggage transfers between overnight stops, plus route notes and maps.
