Head to the Azores for island jazz this autumn Experience some of the world’s finest jazz this autumn on the beautiful island of Terceira located in the heart of the Azores.

Hosted by Camara Municipal de Angra do Heroismo, the International Jazz Festival is an exclusive three night event from 2- 4 October 2009 and is open to all visitors to the Azores archipelago, situated in the Atlanic Ocean.

The International Jazz Festival plays host to renowned jazz artists and groups including Jane Monheit, Chano Dominguez and the high acclaimed AngraJazz Orchestra, who will be performing to an audience of 600.

The festival’s home is located in the Centro Cultural e Congressos,an indoor venue in the city of Agra purposefully chosen to cater for a large number of music enthusiasts. Angra do Heroísmo International Jazz Festival comes alive at night from nine in the evening until the early hours, allowing visitors to explore the islands of the Azores during the day time.

Renowned for its UNESCO World Heritage status, Terceira is a quaint island with cobbled streets, townhouse, cathdrals and 19th Century chapels which are amongst the many must-see sites for visitors to the island. Visitors can learn more about Terceira's history and how it came to earn its heritage status by visiting Angra's public libraries and archives with private art collections on display.

Following on from the festival, visitors can island hop to the other eight islands’ thanks to convenient flight connections with SATA Internacional.
