Fine food and fine walks in Provence
Pan-fried foie gras, turbot slow cooked with ceps, pear poached in Chardonnay… food too good to resist – but what about the waistline?Don’t worry. Excess weight is no problem on Belle France’s Provence Prestige à Pied holiday this autumn. Not only is your luggage transferred between hotels, but the self-guided itinerary proposes walks of between five and ten miles each day – so you can work up an honest appetite for the next great meal.
Staying at superb small hotels and chambres d’hotes along the way – such as former hunting lodge Le Mas des Comtes de Provence in Tarascon, or the Hostellerie le Castellas which this year gained its second Michelin star – each day’s moderate exercise is rewarded with a memorable dinner – included in the holiday.
The cost of £1249 per person, twin share, includes seven nights’ half board accommodation in three- and four-star hotels, luggage transfers between hotels, plus Belle France’s detailed route notes and maps.
UK travel is not included but return channel crossings or rail tickets can be booked on request. The holiday may be started on any date in September or October.
