Jordan and Syria or Venice – The choice is yours

Independent luxury tour operator, Prestige Holidays, still has availability on two of its specialist interest tours this autumn/winter.

The tours are a two week trip to Jordan and Syria (21 October to 3 November) for £1995 per person and a five day art tour of Venice (30 November to 4 December) for just £695 per person. Both tours are available through The Travellers’ Club.

The exciting but comfortable tour of Jordan and Syria takes in a feast of wonderful sites including the rock-cut masterpiece of Petra and the vibrant cities of Damascus and Aleppo. It will also includes visits to the desert city of Palmyra, the Roman cities of Jarash, Bosra and Apamia and the crusader castles of Krac des Chevaliers and Kerak. The package comprises: return scheduled flights, all transport, bed, breakfast and dinner at centrally located hotels, entrance fees and guides.

The Venice tour highlights are trips to the Cathedral and Baptisery in Torcello, the lagoon island of Murano and of course San Marco in the heart of Venice. The break will also take in Northern Venice including a visit to the Madonna dell’Ortot, Tintoretto’s local church, the Ghetto and the delightful Renaissance church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli described by Ruskin as one of the ‘most refined buildings of Venice.’ Plus a visit to the Accademia with its superb collection of works by Venetian artists, the Bellini family, Carpaccio. Giorgione, Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese.

The Venice holiday includes: return scheduled flights to Venice, transfers, four nights bed and breakfast at the Metropole Hotel on the Riva Schiavoni close to St Marks as well as a programme of guided visits.

The Travellers’ Club offers imaginative and comfortable holidays taken at a leisurely pace which appeal to all ages. Travellers Club groups are usually limited to a maximum of 20 persons.
