Discover one of Australia's iconic landmarks

9th February 2007 Print
One of Australia’s most iconic landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, celebrates its 75th anniversary in March and with flights to Australia extremely competitive for travel during the Spring period it is a good time to visit*, says Australian travel specialist Flight Centre.

To celebrate the bridge’s 75th anniversary BridgeClimb Sydney have launched a new bridge climb – the Discovery Climb - that takes visitors on a new route into the heart of the bridge. As well as climbing to a new summit 440 feet up above Sydney, climbers will find out some of the Bridge’s rich history along the way.

More than two million visitors have done a Bridge climb since the first climb opened in 1998 and this is one of only three bridge climbs in the world (Brisbane Storey Bridge Climb and Purple Bridge Climb in Ohio, USA being the other two).

Flight Centre currently has flights to Sydney from £575 per person flying with Eithad Airlines via Abu Dhabi from Gatwick. This deal must be booked by 26 February 2007. Flight Centre offers accommodation in Sydney from £31 per person per night staying at the 3* Sullivans hotel, a family hotel located in the upmarket district of Paddington.
