Chris Moyles' ‘Rallyoke’ with Redcoats
Two Butlins Redcoats will be supporting Chris Moyles in the 2007 Radio 1 Rallyoke to raise funds for Comic Relief. Chris and the gang will be touring the UK holding special, celeb-packed karaoke gigs in seven cities and the Butlins Redcoats, famous for high quality live entertainment, will be on hand to compere the shows. Butlins is donating not only the Redcoats’ time but also the mobile karaoke equipment to the Rallyoke.The tour kicks off in Bournemouth on Friday 9th March in The Old Fire Station then moves onto the following locations (for more information on attending the events visit: bbc.co.uk/radio1/chrismoyles/rallyoke):
10th March - Play Nightclub, Swansea
11th Match - Mood, Liverpool
12th March - Bambu Beach Club, Belfast
13th March - Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow
14th March - Loughborough SU
15th March – Koko, Camden
The two Redcoats Andy Joyce, aged 25 from Oxford, and Kim Hughes, 21 from Gloucestershire, both based at the popular Bognor Regis Resort, were chosen for their outgoing personalities, ability to interact with a live audience and compere skills.
Says Andy Joyce, “I am so excited about the week ahead. I’d like to be a Radio DJ so this is a great chance to see how the professionals do it and to learn a completely different side of the business. To represent Butlins at such a massive event is a real privilege and hopefully we can raise some serious money for Comic Relief!"
Says Kim Hughes, “This is such an amazing experience, I am looking forward to it so much. I can’t wait for my friends and family at home to hear me on the radio. And what with it being for Comic Relief, it makes it all the more worth while."
