A hol lot of fun for Red Nose Day

15th March 2007 Print
First Choice supporting Red Nose Day Anticipation within the First Choice ranks is brewing as a red-coloured haze draws closer… yes Red Nose Day is nearly here! As the minutes tick by before the big day arrives, retail staff are feverishly performing stunts, organising events and well and truly getting into the spirit of Red Nose Day with a whole host of wacky activities.

Here is a selection of some of the best:

• Beans means money for some agents as volunteers at Hull and Sheffield Hypermarkets take a dip of a different kind this Friday (March 16) in a bath of Baked Beans.
• Red Nose Day is a hair-erasing experience for one agent at Woking who has had a full body wax, an agent at Leicester Hypermarket who is having his head shaved, and at Union Street Travel Shop where one male agent is getting his legs waxed.
• Some staff are getting in a spin over the event with sponsored cycles, including Colliers Wood Hypermarket who have arranged a good vs evil bike race from London to Brighton - one member of staff dressed as Wonder Woman, one as Cruella De Ville - using an exercise bike in the shop window).
• The Glenrothes team went potty by organising a 12-hour snooker-thon (pic attached).
• Craigleith Hypermarket are literally throwing themselves into the event with a sponsored parachute jump along with the manager of Telford Hypermarket. Telford are also taking part in a sponsored rowing challenge across the English Channel (on a rowing machine)
• Agents at Dundee are ‘a head’ of the game with a planned sponsored walk – all in a specially made T-shirt with all their heads poking through.
• Glasgow Shawlands have a special guest drawing their raffle – Pop Idol 2003 winner Michelle McManus.
• An agent at Warrington is attempting to copy his idol – Russell Brand – by dressing as the eccentric comic for the day.
• Kindhearted Kidderminster are donating a day's wages to Red Nose Day
• While Llandudno Hypermarket, like many other stores, are getting ready for bed by planning a sponsored pyjama party (see pic attached).

All this and lots, lots more planned for this weekend Friday, March 16, to Sunday, March 18.
