Taekwondo programmes for Korean tourists

22nd March 2007 Print
Taekwondo in Korea Whether you are a black belt or beginner, young or old, participating in and watching Taekwondo is a healthy, dynamic and exciting sport. There are 70 million people in 181 countries that practise the Korean martial art form Taekwondo.

With some 100,000 worldwide clubs, Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Kukkiwon Organisation has developed new cultural programmes to allow visitors and residents to learn more about this amazing martial art.

So why not get involved and try some basic movements and self-defence skills. There may even be a chance to break some wood with your bare hands like a true master. The location is the fabulous Gyeonghuigung Palace, Seoul, providing a wonderful backdrop to encourage and inspire everyone wishing to take part.

Programmes will start on March 21st, 2007 and run until December 2007, each lesson will run for 90 minutes and take place 3 times-a-day, 6-days a week (apart from Mondays).

If you prefer to watch, why not sit back and let the Kukkiwon Taekwondo demonstration team and traditional folk dance team entertain you. These performances will take place in the same place as the participation lessons and will start at 3pm Wednesday to Saturday, until December 2007.
