3rd May 2007 Print
Wild West World Wild West World Theme Park, Kansas’ first theme park and the only all-cowboy theme park in the world, opens for the first time this Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 10 a.m. with a huge Grand Opening Celebration.

The day will kick-off with an announcement of the naming of the Wild West World Mascot at 10:00 a.m. Hundreds of children from across Kansas entered the colouring contest with an idea for a name of the Wild West World Cowboy that sits along I-135. Three local children have been chosen as the winner in each age group. They each won a Season Pass to Wild West World and entrance for their immediate family to the Grand Opening Celebration. They will be recognized during the Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday.

Wild West World will open the entire park on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Although the Prairie Plunge Log Flume and the Condor will not be available for the guests to experience this weekend due to poor weather delaying completion, the Crazy Mouse Rollercoaster, the Sidewinder, El Diablo and all of the rest of Wild West World’s rides will be entertaining guests all day.

Along with the rides, guests can experience three shows created just for Wild West World. These talented cast members, including some from the Wichita area, are some of the best performers in the country. They will be performing each of the shows three times on Saturday and twice on Sunday. Wild West World will also have all of its eighteen games, over ten concessions and restaurants, shooting gallery, and stores on Main Street open and available.

Wild West World anticipates many of the fifteen-thousand season pass holders to attend this weekend as they have been anxiously waiting for over a year to use the pass. Wild West World is the first major theme park in Kansas and the world’s only all-western theme park

Wild West World is owned by Restoration Farms and is a sister attraction to the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper and Hopalong Cassidy Cowboy Museum. For more information on Wild West World, visit Wildwestworld.net.
