A big deal – Philadelphia tax-free shopping

30th May 2007 Print
Shopping in Philadelphia Designer clothes and Jimmy Choos are a part of the bargain awaiting shoppers travelling to Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB) is once again offering Philadelphia shopping discount vouchers as an added incentive to visit the city.

With no sales tax on clothing and shoes, Philadelphia is a bargain for shoppers, and a great city break destination.

As the dollar offers great value against the pound and US Airways commences their seasonal direct flight to Philadelphia from Glasgow, travel to America’s first capital city is more accessible with daily flights from Manchester, London Gatwick and from Heathrow with British Airways. From just £499, North America Travel Service offers City Shopping Breaks which includes return economy flights and three nights at the Sheraton Society Hill

Visitors can get the added-value vouchers from their tour operator or travel agent when they book a trip to Philadelphia, and exchange them for discounts offered by the best shopping spots in and around city. The shopping discount vouchers offer savings at Philadelphia’s biggest malls and shopping districts, and are available through selected tour operators in the UK.

The vouchers are valid through April 2008 and can be used at the King of Prussia Mall, one of the largest retail shopping complexes in the U.S.A.; Franklin Mills Mall, one of the largest discount malls, as well as the many shopping districts in the city centre.

Earlier this year Prince Charles visited the city to see a selection of the 2700 murals, Rocky Balboa was filmed and screened and “The Sound of Philadelphia” memorabilia store opened.
