Experience contemporary Cowal culture this June
The first ArtsFeastCowal will take place from Friday 22 June to Sunday 24 June. Experience contemporary Cowal culture, expressed through its art, crafts and food, an experience which will truly nourish your soul. Artists living and working in Dunoon and Cowal are inspired by the colours, moods, light and history of this area to create beautiful, individual pieces of work.Equally Cowal’s chefs are inspired by the ingredients available from the local hills, fields and loch shores and incorporate this quality local produce in the imaginative dishes they prepare. Experience this unique opportunity as local artists and food producers open their doors for ArtsFeastCowal and invite you to visit, experience and buy direct.
Some of the participating restaurants and cafes are locations well-known for presenting and selling good quality local paintings and craft work. Others are taking this unique opportunity to display art work for the first time. You will find a cornucopia of restaurants, bistros and food producers lined up with a portfolio of artists, jewelers, potters, sculptors and photographers from Dunoon to Loch Fyne and all points in between. There will also be many specially laid-on events and exhibitions in local galleries.
ArtsFeastCowal kicks off on Friday 22 June at 12 noon. Many artists will be opening their studios for the first time to the public for the following 2 days. Others will be displaying their work in established galleries, participating restaurants or sharing a studio space. On display you will see innovative contemporary art work in a diverse range of techniques. Studio opening hours are 12 noon - 9pm on Friday, and 10am - 9pm on Saturday and 10am – 6pm Sunday.
