Butlins set to welcome stars of UK sport

18th August 2007 Print
Steve Davis Butlins Butlins Minehead is set to welcome over 5,000 sports fans eager to meet, and get some tips, from their sporting heroes. They’re looking for tackling tips from Paul Merson and Tony Cottee, how to snooker your opponent from former World Snooker Champion Steve Davis and getting your flights straight with pointers from former World Darts Champion Keith Deller and ‘Big’ Cliff Lazarenko.

For as little as £48 per person guests at Butlins Minehead can enjoy a short break, 7th – 10th September, packed with the UK’s most popular sports.

The ever popular former World Heavy Boxing Champion Frank Bruno will be taking part in an interactive question and answer session whilst Steve Davis and Paul Merson captain Butlins own Question of Sport.

Sports widows can relax in the many bars, shops and restaurants on the Resort or treat themselves to a facial, manicure or massage in the on-resort beauty salon. For toddlers there will be Bob the Builder and his friends in their interactive show in Bob’s yard or ballet lessons at the Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy.

For the more energetic guests High Ropes, Europe’s Highest Aerial Trekking Course, offers the chance to climb the 83ft wall and abseil back down, walk on the rope ladder course or, for the really brave, try the trapeze.

Prices for this Stars of Sport weekend range from £48pp per break for Standard self-catering to £72pp per break for Gold self-catering accommodation based on four people sharing or on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis from £238 for Standard rooms to £370 for a Gold apartment, based on a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 2 – 14 years) sharing.
