Exmoor Food Festival

On Sunday the Lynn Food Fest and Treasure Hunt will be held at various venues in the cliff top town of Lynton between 10am and 4pm; the day will be packed full with foodie events including producer displays, food and drink sampling and cookery demonstrations by chefs from The Crown at Exford. Waterstone’s of Barnstaple will also be setting up a cookery book shop.
Tuesday 9th is the Exmoor Horn Sheep Day at the Culbone Inn when guests can enjoy a meal celebrating the local breed and enjoy the traditional Exmoor Folk music.
Alternatively visitors can dine at the renowned Andrews-on-Weir restaurant, near Porlock, where evenings will be themed around either locally caught fish and seafood, or mushrooms gathered from the woods surrounding the restaurant.
Those wishing to see the stunning countryside can join an Exmoor Landrover Safari led by an expert guide in search of red deer, Exmoor ponies and other flora and fauna, before returning for lunch or afternoon tea in Porlock. The grand finale will be a 'meet the producer' Food Fair at Porlock village Hall on Sunday, 14 October where there will be a chance to taste a vast variety of fine local produce.
The Exmoor Food Festival will take place around the stunning landscape of the National Park, which encompasses coast and countryside in West Somerset and North Devon. The festival organisers have designed the programme to give visitors the chance to see this wonderful landscape, enjoy the delicious produce that comes from the area and meet some of the people who are so passionate about making it.
