Cruise from water to ice this winter

12th September 2007 Print
City Cruises Enjoy the great sights along the River Thames, aboard a City Cruises Riverliner, as you make your way to the outdoor skating rinks, for some winter fun. The sightseeing service, offers a hop-on hop-off service with four convenient stops (Westminster Pier, Waterloo Pier, Tower Pier and Greenwich Pier) to choose from, each one close to three of the outdoor skating rinks that will be open this winter.

Passengers will be able to alight at either Westminster or Waterloo Pier for Somerset House Ice Rink, which will be located in the romantic 18th century courtyard. Tower Pier will be the stop of choice for the Tower of London Ice Rink, which will be situated in the moat beneath the grand outer wall of Her Majesty’s Fortress, overlooking the Thames. Finally, it is just a short walk from Greenwich Pier to the Old Royal Naval College, where the Greenwich Ice Rink will be located, between the colonnades.

Travelling in comfort to the skating rinks will be made possible aboard the Riverliners, thus avoiding the traffic and the congestion charge. Passengers will be able to take advantage of light refreshments and bar services that are available onboard and opt to combine their cruise with breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.
