Take a day out in Cheshire this half-term

Halloween Enjoy a fun filled day out in stunning Cheshire this half term. Exciting events include a pumpkin festival at Arley Hall and the North West Food Lover's Festival at Tatton Park with celebrity chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli and Simon Rimmer.

Autumn Tints

Cholmondley Castle Garden, near Malpas, Cheshire, is a wild and beautifully romantic garden dominated by a gothic castle built in 1801 of local sandstone.

Visitors at this time of the year can enjoy breathtaking views of the stunning gardens coated in autumn tints. There is a water garden, rose garden, picnic area, children's play area, plus large collection of rare farm animals and many walking routes.

North West Food Lover’s Festival – 27th/ 28th October 2007

Head to Tatton Park and enjoy a fantastic food-filled family day out with over 100 fine food and drink stalls offering the finest Cheshire fayre. Famous chefs including Jean-Christophe Novelli and Simon Rimmer will be tantalising taste buds with their creations.

Why not walk off your lunch around Tatton’s gardens; be sure to visit the Japanese Garden, probably the best example outside of Japan.

Pumpkin and Halloween Festival at Arley Hall – 27th/ 28th October 2007

Families should head to Arley Hall this Halloween, where they can enjoy spider hunts, old fashioned favourite apple bobbing and even take part in the pumpkin challenge for best decorated, biggest pumpkin and best lantern.

For thrill seekers - join the ghost hunt in Arley Halls grade II listed gardens over 250 years old and where the double herbaceous border is reported to be the oldest in England.
