18th October 2007 Print
On the day that Location, Location, Location has revealed that Edinburgh is the best place to stay in the UK, presenters Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp share their top 10 things to do and see in the city with Visitscotland.com/top10.

Collectively the property gurus list the city’s botanical gardens, the view from the world famous Edinburgh Castle and Edinburgh’s Christmas celebrations among their Edinburgh top ten. Stylish Kirstie’s enthusiasm for shopping in the city also shines through as she sites buying shoes in Harvey Nics and Shopping in Bethany’s charity shop as two of her favourite things to do in the city.

Speaking in the run-up to the live broadcast of the Location, Location, Location Best and Worst 2007, presenter Phil said: “There is such a huge variety of things to see and do in Edinburgh – from amazing architecture, fabulous scenery and beautiful walks to exclusive shops, Michelin-starred restaurants and world-class events and festivals. It is no wonder the city is the top place to live in the UK.”

Kirstie and Phil’s top 10 things to see and do in Edinburgh are:

1. Visiting the botanical gardens.
2. Walking on the Crags and Arthur’s Seat at sunset.
3. Buying shoes at Harvey Nics (that’s one from Kirstie!)
4. Visiting some of the great beaches that are only 20 minutes away from the city centre.

6. The zoo for children
7. Chilling out at the Aquarium
8. View from Edinburgh Castle
9. Le Café Saint Honoré, off Thistle Street
10. Edinburgh at Christmas – the German Christmas market, ice rink and ferris wheel.
